Cytology Department
Our team of cytotechnologists are long time employees of PSIP. They are all
experienced and trained technologists whose quality of work is outstanding. In
addition to the screening of GYN and NON-GYN specimens, we also perform the
Digene Hybrid Capture 2 High Risk HPV test. We use the Thin Prep Imaging system
for computer assisted screening of GYN cases, which allows us to better detect
the presence of HGSIL and other precursor lesions.
Screener performance is carefully monitored and reviewed monthly to insure that
our high standards are maintained. Continuing education thru teleconferences,
yearly proficiency testing and the CAP slide programs insure the delivery of
effective and professional diagnostic decisions.
